Definition
Letterforms rooted in the tradition of Renaissance humanist calligraphy. Humanist letterforms are characterised by an oblique stress axis, moderate contrast between thick and thin strokes, and organic stroke modulation derived from the movement of a broad-nib pen. The humanist tradition includes both serif and sans-serif types.
